Globalization leading to unpredictable financial situations…. New generation financial institutions creating an over financed society…… Over produced goods finding out of tune with realistic market demands…. Over confident economies making imaginative predictions on global consumptions…… Chaos across the world leading to low confidence level When the goods are not consumed, manufacturing companies are affected. Then they need less production time, less man hours. The unemployed population increases causing pressure in the market. Investors stop spending on projects. Employees feel the heat; fear of job loses makes them spend less…. Stocks fall…. No new investments…. Projects shelved…. Delayed…. |

Recession The word "Recession" has been relatively unknown to us until recently. But now, everybody is talking about it. Everybody fears the dreaded word and its after effects. Less consumption, less production, less jobs…. The effects are interlinked and mutually facilitating each other. But we have to face it. We as part of a larger community with members placed strategically in all walks of business and social strata have a distinctive advantage. We are capable of supporting each other. And ourselves.. |
Effects in UAE Even though the sharp oil price drop eventually might have an adverse effect on the economic growth, the real problem of the crisis is affected in the core sectors of property, real estates and the automobile sector. Not many new major projects are announced. Some of the existing projects are being shelved or delayed, as per reports. It is clear that the expatriate community will be the first those who feel the heat and we have been receiving news about our fellow mates losing jobs on a daily basis which is really an exposure of the unfortunate situation prevailing in the region. But on the other hand, especially the regional government of Dubai has come up with solid plans for spending on various new projects; mainly on infrastructure, which is a positive sign. The largest budget in the history of UAE is a sign of more spending which can make some cheer on the face of the investors. Dubai Government launched a bond program of 20 billion U.S. dollars to press ahead with its development plans. |
