The art of Athapoo

CETA Atthapoo flower arrangements in U.A.E is mostly
linked to Onam celebrations conducted by AKCAF,KERA and
recently CETA itself.

Apart from our experience during college days our expertise in this field is very
minimal, hence during nineties our role in AKCAF competition used to be limited
to mere participation.
At that time our Association unlike today, was not that organized and it was often difficult to arrange a
team for this item.

The AKCAF competitions in which most of the college alumni's participate is a major
event in the programme calendar of the city itself. Every year the competition is
getting bigger and more competitive. Competing with more than 35 other colleges and
being in the medal table 4 times in the last 5 years is really satisfying. We came first in first ever
athapoo competitions held by KERA.
Consistent effort and useful contributions for the
last 7 years came from mainly from the following
alumini members /spouse like Deepu,Henry

colour shade and also the skill level of the team
(as most of the experienced team members may
not be available during competition due to
summer/Onam vacation) were minor impediments.
This event gives a good experience for
children to witness and also to help their
parents in cutting/peeling fresh flowers etc. It
cultivates artistic instincts in children. We have

our members

With lot of talented young architects from our
members showing more interest in this event,
we believe that the future of CETA in this
event is bright. Last few years we
concentrated on designs with curves and in
color contrasts, which was subsequently
copied by many other colleges recently. We therefore without deviating from our strengths plan to bring a
3D effect to our designs. Hope our young architects will help us in achieving this
